Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Root

I am so excited start my third year in the Wayland Public Schools!  This is my 11th year in a kindergarten classroom.  I have also taught preschool, pre-k, grade 1 and grade 2.  I have taught in Vermont, Boston, Cambridge, Sherborn and Sudbury.  I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Vermont and a Master's Degree from Wheelock College.  Both degrees are in Early Childhood Education, with focuses on literacy and psychology.  Outside of school I love spending time with my family, reading, and doing puzzles.  I live in Sherborn with my husband and 2 daughters.

Ms. Morse is the teaching assistant in our classroom and has been in Wayland for 14 years.  Together we hope to create a classroom community based on respect and kindness where children can grow and learn to be their best selves.
